  • 1 Cup Semolina - 1 (Sooji/Rava) fine variety
  • 0.75 Cup Sugar
  • 0.5 Cup Ghee
  • 5 Pieces Cardamoms Powdered
  • 10 Pieces Cashews (Kaju)
  • 2 tbsp Raisins (Kishmish)
  • 2 Cups Milk

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. Once it becomes hot, add the semolina & cashews and stir.
  3. Keep on stirring the sooji/semolina so that it does not stick to the pan and is roasted evenly.
  4. After 7-8 mins grains will change their color and the cashews also change to a light golden.
  5. Then add the cardamom powder and raisins.
  6. Stir and add sugar, again stir it and after 1-2 mins. add milk.
  7. Stir it slowly and the sooji will begin to absorb the milk and swell.
  8. Keep on stirring often till the whole mixture starts thickening and starts to leave the edge of the kadai or pan.

Recipe Notes

You can change the quantity of milk as per your preference, I  add lot of milk since my daughter likes it that way.
